What is Membership?

Church membership is a meaningful step of saying you are “all in” at Clayton Church. It’s about belonging to the church family, joining the mission, and aligning with our vision and values.

Why Membership Matters

Membership marks a shift from being a consumer to becoming a contributor, where faith is lived out through service and commitment. It reflects a mutual relationship between the church and its leaders, and an ongoing posture of asking not only how the church can serve you, but how God is calling you to serve others, your church, and your city.

The difference between an attendee and a member can be summed up in one word:
COMMITMENT

At Clayton Church, we recognise the need for a formal membership.

We ask that you commit to local church membership for four reasons: Biblical, Cultural, Personal, Practical. You will learn more about this in our membership class.

Our membership classes run in the first week after the school holidays. Below is our membership class schedule for 2026:

You only need to attend one of the classes.

For just as the body is one and has many members…all the members of the body, though many, are one body. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
